Prosperous Armenia discrepancies to be addressed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has stated that discrepancies identified by the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will be corrected and reflected both in the extracts to be published and in the final election results scheduled for release on June 14. The information was provided by the CEC spokesperson, according to Radio Liberty.

On June 8, Prosperous Armenia announced that it had discovered a number of counting inaccuracies at several polling stations. According to the party, the CEC failed to count 120 votes in just four polling stations.

The party has also requested recounts at several polling stations, including precinct No. 27/7, where it claims that 76 of the 77 votes cast in its favor were not included in the count.

Whether the political force led by Gagik Tsarukyan will surpass the 4 percent threshold required for parliamentary representation will become clear after the publication of the final results on June 14. According to preliminary figures, Prosperous Armenia received 3.996 percent of the vote.

In addition to Prosperous Armenia, the Unity Wings Party and the Hayastan Alliance have also submitted requests for recounts.

According to the CEC, the recount process will be completed on June 12.

According to preliminary election results, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract – 49.825%, Strong Armenia – 23.281%, Hayastan Alliance – 9.934%, Prosperous Armenia – 3.996%. Under the current preliminary figures, Prosperous Armenia remains below the 4 percent threshold required for political parties, though recount requests have been filed at several polling stations.
