Anti-Corruption Committee reports 52 arrests

PanARMENIAN.Net - Since February 7, 2026, Armenian authorities have initiated 115 criminal proceedings related to corruption-linked electoral offenses, according to the Anti-Corruption Committee.

According to the published data:

• 77 proceedings concerned the Strong Armenia alliance — 67% of the total;
• 24 proceedings concerned the Prosperous Armenia Party — 20.8%;
• 11 proceedings concerned the Hayastan alliance — 9.6%.

The committee stated that public criminal prosecution has been initiated against 242 individuals in connection with 61 criminal cases.

Preventive measures have been imposed on 220 defendants, including 100 individuals subjected to custodial restrictions:

• 52 individuals were placed in pretrial detention — 21.3%;
• 48 individuals were placed under house arrest — 19.7%.

Alternative preventive measures were imposed on 120 defendants:

• 20 individuals were placed under administrative supervision — 8.2%;
• 100 individuals were subjected to travel restrictions — 41%.

In addition, 19 individuals have been placed on a wanted list, while 14 criminal cases involving 54 individuals have been completed and forwarded with indictments.

The Anti-Corruption Committee stated that it will continue its efforts to combat corruption-related electoral offenses and will maintain strict oversight over potential violations during the post-election period.

The agency also called on citizens to respect the law, act responsibly, and refrain from any unlawful attempts to influence electoral processes.

According to preliminary election results, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract – 49.825%, Strong Armenia – 23.281%, Hayastan Alliance – 9.934%, Prosperous Armenia – 3.996%. Under the updated figures, Prosperous Armenia has not cleared the 4% threshold required for political parties, although the party has requested recounts at several polling stations.
