Court rejects request to detain Gagik Khachatryan![]() June 11, 2026 - 18:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A court has rejected a motion filed by Armenia’s Investigative Committee seeking the detention of former State Revenue Committee chairman Gagik Khachatryan, according to information reported by Factor.am . According to the Investigative Committee, Republican Party of Armenia vice-chairman Armen Ashotyan, Gagik Khachatryan, his son Artyom Khachatryan, and other individuals involved in the criminal case are accused of abuse of official authority, assisting in that offense, as well as money laundering on an especially large scale committed by a group, and aiding such activities. The criminal proceedings concern a property located at 38/1 Pushkin Street, Apartment 59, Yerevan, with an area of approximately 451 square meters and an assessed value exceeding 208 million drams. According to the prosecution, the property was removed from the state asset pool and, through affiliated individuals, was allegedly used to serve the interests of Gagik and Artyom Khachatryan. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
