Golden Apricot unveils international jury

The 23rd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival has announced the full lineup of the jury for its International Competition.

The jury will be chaired by Jessica Hausner, one of the leading figures of contemporary Austrian cinema. Her films have premiered at Cannes and Venice and gained broad recognition for their innovative approach to genre filmmaking.

Mark Cousins is an Irish-Scottish film historian and director whose internationally renowned documentary series The Story of Film: An Odyssey has become one of the landmark works of modern film criticism. He has authored numerous books and documentary films.

Nahuel Pérez Biscayart is an Argentine actor best known for his leading role in Robin Campillo’s French film BPM (Beats per Minute) (2017), for which he received both César and Lumières awards.

Mark Peranson is a Canadian writer, producer and longtime film curator. He has served as a programming director for the Berlin International Film Festival and the Locarno Film Festival. His articles on cinema have appeared in Sight and Sound, Film Comment, Cahiers du Cinéma and other leading publications.

Shermin Langhoff is a German-Turkish theatre producer who has served as artistic director of Berlin’s Gorki Theatre since 2013. Under her leadership, the theatre has twice been named Germany’s “Theatre of the Year” and has received numerous awards.

The festival will bring renowned filmmakers and industry professionals to Armenia, offering audiences a unique space for cultural exchange and dialogue.

The 23rd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival will take place from July 12 to 19.

This year, the festival will once again present both competition and non-competition programs featuring films from various countries, as well as selections from major international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin and other leading cinema platforms.

According to the festival’s press service, internationally acclaimed filmmakers, directors, actors and industry professionals will travel to Armenia during the event. They will share their experience and artistic vision with Armenian audiences, creating a unique platform for dialogue, new ideas and cultural exchange.
