Seda Safaryan to take part in election case hearing![]() June 24, 2026 - 18:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Constitutional Court judge Seda Safaryan will participate in the hearing on challenges to the election results after a motion concerning her involvement was not reviewed, according to the Constitutional Court’s Department of External Relations, Aysor.am reported. “The motion submitted by the Hayastan Alliance regarding Seda Safaryan was not considered because none of the judges raised the issue,” the Constitutional Court said. Under Part 3 of Article 16 of the Law on the Constitutional Court, the issue of a judge’s inability to participate in a case may be raised by any Constitutional Court judge. Only in that situation can the matter be placed on the agenda for discussion, as occurred in the cases of judges Vladimir Vardanyan and Artak Zeynalyan. As a result, Seda Safaryan will participate in the hearing on June 26 concerning the challenges to the election results. Judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan will not take part in the proceedings. According to the Constitutional Court’s assessment, their participation is impossible because they have a prejudicial attitude toward the parties involved in the case. Vladimir Vardanyan was elected to the Constitutional Court from the Civil Contract parliamentary faction, while Artak Zeynalyan was a member of the Republic Party led by Aram Sargsyan before becoming a judge. The cases initiated on the basis of applications filed by seven political forces challenging the results of the parliamentary elections have been merged into a single proceeding and will be examined within the same hearing. The court session is scheduled for June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Constitutional Court judge Edgar Shatiryan has been appointed as rapporteur, and the case will be heard under an oral procedure. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
