CC partly grants Strong Armenia motion

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Constitutional Court has partially granted a motion filed by the Strong Armenia party to include sociologist Maria Mkhitaryan's expert opinion as evidence in the consolidated election case, Constitutional Court Judge Arman Dilanyan said, according to Panorama.am .

"The Constitutional Court yesterday considered the motions submitted by the parties. Only the motion filed by the Strong Armenia party was partially granted. In the consolidated case, the court agreed to admit sociologist Maria Mkhitaryan's opinion as evidence. It was only partially granted because the request to summon Maria Mkhitaryan as a witness was rejected.

In addition, I would like to clarify that the motion submitted by the Prosperous Armenia party regarding the constitutionality of the provision in Part 4 of Article 95 of the Electoral Code concerning the calculation of the total number of inaccuracies was rejected. However, the Constitutional Court will address its substance in its final decision," Dilanyan said.

He also noted that the physical evidence had been submitted and would be examined during the hearing.

The Constitutional Court is considering the consolidated case based on applications filed by seven political forces challenging the results of the June 7 regular parliamentary elections.
