Armenia, EU review justice cooperation agenda![]() July 6, 2026 - 16:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 15th meeting of the Armenia-European Union Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security was held under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Justice Minister Anna Karapetyan, with the participation of senior representatives of relevant state institutions. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the key priorities of the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda, assessed the progress achieved, and identified priorities for future cooperation. Officials presented updates on judicial, legal and constitutional reforms, ongoing efforts to strengthen judicial cooperation, and progress in combating corruption and fulfilling international commitments. Separate attention was given to legislative and institutional reforms in the field of personal data protection, including efforts to align Armenia's framework with European Union standards, establish an independent supervisory authority, and further improve the country's legal framework for data protection. The participants also discussed the implementation of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP) dialogue with the European Union. Armenian officials presented reforms related to document security, migration and border management, the protection of fundamental rights, and alignment with European Union standards, as well as other issues of mutual interest in the areas of justice, freedom and security. The Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security has operated since 2009, with its meetings held regularly in Yerevan and Brussels. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
