Shirak governor gives up parliamentary seat

PanARMENIAN.Net - Shirak Governor Davit Arushanyan said he had relinquished his mandate as a member of Armenia’s National Assembly and would continue his work as governor. He announced the decision in a post on his Facebook page.

“For me, public service means responsibility toward people. Guided by that responsibility, I will continue working with even greater determination, consistency and resolve for Shirak’s development, the implementation of new projects, improved infrastructure, and the progress of our region and beloved Gyumri.

“I thank all residents of Shirak Province for their support and cooperation. Your trust is my greatest responsibility, and through daily work and practical steps, I will do everything possible to meet your expectations.

“I am confident that together we will be able to accomplish the goals before us and secure stable development and a prosperous future for Shirak and Gyumri,” he wrote.

The Constitutional Court rejected the application filed by seven political forces. Under the final election results, Civil Contract enters parliament with 64 seats, Strong Armenia with 29, and Hayastan with 12.
