Investigative actions carried out at Arinj Mall

PanARMENIAN.Net - Investigative actions were carried out from early morning at Arinj Mall, a shopping center owned by Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, resulting in the temporary suspension of operations at 10 to 15 pavilions, according to Tsarukyan's spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan, Sputnik Armenia reported.

_Earlier, _Aysor.am reported that tax authorities were conducting inspections at Arinj Mall. According to the report, traders said the inspections began early in the morning, preventing them from operating their pavilions.

"The investigative authorities carried out an inspection from early morning, and the activities of 10 to 15 pavilions have been suspended. Overall, Arinj Mall itself has not ceased operations, and business there continues as usual. The suspended pavilions are mainly engaged in the sale of construction materials and interior design products," Tonoyan said.

According to her, the justification for suspending the pavilions' operations states that they are located within the area of high-voltage power lines. Tonoyan added that lawyers are already handling the matter and are presenting the relevant legal arguments.

"Tax inspections were conducted at several pavilions in Arinj Mall a few days ago, and the current actions concern those same pavilions," Tonoyan said.

She also noted that operations had been carried out several days earlier at the nearby gold market adjacent to Arinj Mall, although it is now continuing to operate normally.

On July 6, it became known that law enforcement officers had entered the residence of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, as well as enterprises belonging to the Multi Group conglomerate owned by him, where searches were conducted. Since that day, the companies' premises have been sealed and their operations suspended.

On July 16, it was reported that AraratCement had been transferred to the management of the Republic of Armenia, the Multi Wellness fitness center building had been transferred to the Yerevan Municipality, and prosecutors were seeking the confiscation of 75 real estate properties and more than 106 billion drams from Gagik Tsarukyan.

During the election campaign, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Tsarukyan's business "backbone"—the Ararat cement plant—would soon become state property.
