Samvel Karapetyan, chairman of the Strong Armenia party, has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court seeking to challenge a decision by the Corruption Prevention Commission.
The commission imposed an administrative penalty of 200,000 drams on Karapetyan for failing to submit within the legally prescribed deadline a declaration of assets and income held as of the date he assumed his duties as party chairman, Auroranews.am reports.
According to the commission’s decision, Samvel Karapetyan also failed to submit the declaration within the additional 30-day period provided by law after receiving written notification from the commission. As a result, an administrative penalty of 200,000 drams was imposed on him.
It was noted that in February 2026, when Karapetyan assumed his duties as party chairman, he was subject to court-ordered restrictions on communications. He is currently under house arrest.
Karapetyan has challenged the Corruption Prevention Commission’s decision in court. The case has been assigned to Judge Mher Petrosyan. No information has yet been published on whether the lawsuit has been accepted for proceedings.
