The mandates of four Yerevan City Council members have been terminated early, and they will continue their work in the National Assembly.

At its July 27 meeting, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took as a basis the protocols submitted by the Yerevan mayor on the early termination of the mandates of council members Mesrop Manukyan, Levon Levonyan, Mikayel Khachatryan, and Natalya Sinoryan.

Guided by Article 141, Part 8 of Armenia’s constitutional law on the Electoral Code, the CEC drew up a protocol under which the vacant council mandates of the Mother Armenia alliance and the Civil Contract party were allocated to the next candidates on their respective electoral lists, the CEC said.

In particular, the mandate from the electoral list of the Mother Armenia alliance was transferred to Karapet Artush Vardanyan.

Gohar Safaryan, Sergey Apresyan and Artur Mayilyan received mandates from the Civil Contract party’s electoral list.

According to the final election results, Civil Contract entered parliament with 64 mandates, Strong Armenia with 29 mandates and Hayastan alliance with 12 mandates.
