The period of house arrest imposed on Artush Gabrielyan, a suspended judge of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, has been extended. The information was confirmed by Armenia's Anti-Corruption Court, according to Sputnik Armenia.

The Anti-Corruption Court, chaired by Judge Khachik Ghazaryan, granted motions filed by the public prosecutor, extending the house arrest of Artush Gabrielyan and Galust Khurshudyan by an additional three months.

The court found that, at the current stage of the trial, the risk that Gabrielyan could unlawfully interfere with the evidentiary process, obstruct the criminal proceedings, or fail to comply with obligations imposed on him by law had not diminished sufficiently to justify replacing house arrest with a less restrictive preventive measure.

The criminal case against Artush Gabrielyan concerns allegations of accepting a bribe. According to the case file, the judge allegedly demanded and received a $10,000 bribe in exchange for delaying proceedings in favor of a defendant and later terminating the case after the statute of limitations had expired.

Two other defendants are also charged in the case: Galust Khurshudyan, who is accused of aiding the alleged offense, and Zohrab Sikharulidze (Yezgatyan), who is accused of giving the bribe.
