COMMANDER OF RUSSIAN MILITARY BASE LOCATED IN ARMENIA DISMISSED
Upon a decree of Russian defense minister Sergey Ivanov commander of the 102-nd Russian military base located in Gyumri Armenian city, major general Alexander Titov is dismissed. As reported by Russian sources, the report of the military council of the Transcaucasian military district notes that Titov admitted violations of military discipline and "did not perform his duties." It contributed to theft of the military property and caused reduction of military efficiency of military units and detachments he was in charge of. Staff chief, colonel Yuri Pershin is appointed interim acting chief of the 102-nd military base. It should be reminded that an incident occurred at the base lately, resulting in death of two Gyumri residents, who had tried to penetrate into the territory of the base.
