IN NEW YORK «AMERICAN AIRLINES» AIRPLANE CRASHED NEAR JOHN KENNEDY AIRPORT

PanARMENIAN.Net - «Airbus» A-300 passenger airplane crashed near John Kennedy airport. The plane was en route to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). The flight carried 255 people-246 passengers and 5 crewmembers. As CNN informs, the plane crashed in Queens neighborhood where four buildings are on fire and presumably there was a gas station. «Arminfo» agency informs that according to the Pentagon information, the airplane crew did not report about any mechanical problems. American Airlines company representative Donald Carty has stated that during the last checkup which was in October 2001, no mechanical problems were found out. But the USA federal administration expert on aviation (FAA) excludes the possibility of terrorist act that might cause the airplane crash in New York, informs Ananova with the reference to the FAA high-ranking representative. As ABC News informs, the FBI representative Tracy Bellinger has the same opinion. «At the moment we do not think that this might be a terrorist act as there is no information that let us consider this variant». One of the most probable versions of the catastrophe in New York, in several experts' opinions, is the mechanical problem in the engine. This opinion has also been expressed by the ABC News advisor on the aviation problems John Nense. «If there was smoke coming from the engine then it signifies that the mechanical problem in it could be too serious», said Nence.
