Serge Avedikian’s Barking Island film to be featured as separate program of ReAnimania festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of ReAnimania international animation film festival Vrej Kassouny said that Barking Island film by French director Serge Avedikian, the winner of the Best Short Film prize at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival, will be featured at the festival out of its competition program.

Serge Avedikian insisted on it, Kassouny told journalists. According to him, people will have the opportunity to address questions to the film director after watching it.

“280 films, including 12 films from Armenia, were received for participation in the competition program of ReAnimania festival. Meanwhile, three Armenian films are included in the competition program – John Silver by Ara Muradyan, Angel in City by Naira Muradyan and Needs of Nature by Sebastian Lermit,” said Applications Coordinator of the festival Karine Aroyan.

According to her, Sebastian Lermit is not a professional film director. He is a volunteer of an ecological organization, for which the film was created. Karine Aroyan noted that France has set the absolute record, sending 80 films for the competition program.

Besides, Japan, China, Singapore and other Asian countries sent their films this year, what is a great achievement for the festival.
