The U.S. President George Bush forwarded a message to Azeri President Heydar Aliyev, in which he named the regular meetings of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan "advancement to a mutually acceptable solution of the Karabakh conflict".The U.S. President welcomed the coming meeting of the two Presidents and said he hoped peace would be established in the Southern Caucasian region in 2001. Bilik Dunyasi quoted Bush as saying that the people of the two countries, involved in the conflict, "will have to make a hard choice". The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
