Spokesperson for the U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan Keith Bean said the U.S. calls on the Azerbaijani government to create essential conditions for freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of media.

Bean noted that American officials continuously make such statements. Besides, Bean urged the country’s authorities to release of people arrested in Azerbaijan during rallies. “Our stance is clear and we would like protests to proceed peacefully,” SalamNews quoted Bean as saying.
