Armenian boxers to participate in Ankara-hosted European ChampionshipsJune 7, 2011 - 17:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s boxing team continues getting prepared for the European Championships to be held in Ankara on June 14-25. Seven sportsmen will represent Armenia at the tournament. Armenia’s chief coach Rafael Mehrabyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that Armenian boxers participated in various international tournaments and won medals. “And based on the results of these tournaments, I invited sportsmen to the team,” Mehrabyan said, adding that the team currently hold trainings in Ararat jointly with the Iranian team, which arrived in Armenia on May 29. A delegation led by President of the Armenian Boxing Federation Arman Muradyan will leave for Turkey on June 14. Specifically, Armenia will be represented by 2008 European champion Hovhannes Davtyan (49kg), Narek Abgaryan (52kg), Vladimir Sarukhanyan (60kg), 2010 European champion Hrachik Javakhyan (64kg), Samvel Matevosyan (69kg) and Arthur Khachatryan (79kg).
