Pagan party to participate in Armenian parliamentary election

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Njdeh Religion of Race Party, the affiliates of which refer themselves to followers of the Armenian old Religion and adherents of the ideology of Garegin Njdeh ,will participate in the forthcoming parliamentary election.

According to the representative of the political council of the party, Gevorg Hovsepyan, the goal of their party is development of national ideas in Armenia.

“Not a separate party but all Armenians should carry ideas of the Religion of Race,” Hovsepyan said, adding that Armenia experiences the crisis of national ideology and that intellectuals are now out of the game.

“As regards our participation in elections alone or in affiliation with other political forces, this issue will be determined at the party congress, which is scheduled for the end of this year,” Hovsepyan said.

According to him, the party was formed in 1989 and registered in 1991. It was the ninth registered party in Armenia; during re-registration in 2003, it numbered 2300 members.
