Abraham gifts €100thous. sports equipment to Armenian school

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham is now in Armenia not only for recreation but also for some benevolent purposes.

“I started boxing in the school after Vladimir Yengibaryan and trained there for four years. I would like to thank my school and coaches and, together with Adidas company, to gift some the sports equipment at the amount of €100 thousand to the school. The young boxers will thus have all necessary things for training,” Abraham told a news conference on June 17.

The Armenian boxer also plans to establish a new boxing school in Yerevan to train young sportsmen. He noted that the boxers will study foreign languages in the school, particularly, English and German. “To get world popularity the boxer should necessarily speak foreign languages; that is why besides physical and tactical exercise they must study languages,” he said.

According to Abraham, he is keeping up with the Armenian sport and supporting Armenian sportsmen. “I always enjoy when Armenians demonstrate their strength at international tournaments. I am very glad that the Armenian national football team play well and show striking results,” the boxer said.
