 53 "Golden Apricot" 8th International Film Festival                                                          The Golden Apricot invited to XIII Eurasian TV Forum  July 14, 2011 - 15:42 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - President of Eurasian Television and Radio Academy Valery Ruzin invited Golden Apricot Yerevan Cinema Festival to XIII Eurasian TV Forum. “I think the whole Eurasian professional media society would be interested to see your festival in Moscow,” said Ruzin during the video bridge Yerevan-Moscow-Astana-Kiev, dated to the regular XIII Eurasian TV Forum. In turn, the Rector of Yerevan State Instuitute of Theater and Cinematography Armen Mazmanyan stated that the organizers of Cinema Festival will connect with Eurasian Television and Radio Academy to discuss further steps. Yerevan hosts Golden Apricot 8th international film festival on these days. World famous actress Fanny Ardant is an honorary guest at Golden Apricot 8th international film festival. Yerevan International Film Festival "Golden Apricot" is a Yerevan-based annual film festival. The objectives of the festival are "to present new works by the film directors and producers in Armenia and foreign cinematographers of Armenian descent and to promote creativity and originality in the area of cinema and video art". The major awards at the YIFF are the Golden Apricot and Silver Apricot prizes for feature, documentary and Armenian panorama films. Lifetime achievement is recognized by the Parajonov's Thaler Award, named in honour of Sergei Parajanov.
