Google+ now available for iPhone but not iPad or iPod

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google’s Senior VP of Social Vic Gundotra posted at his G+ account that Google+ is now available for iPhone users, according to Thisismynext.com.

Just a few weeks after the launch of the Android app, iPhone users can get in on the Circle, Huddle, and Stream browsing fun with a native iOS app.

Unfortunately, iPad and iPod touch users will have to keep using the mobile-optimized site, because this is one of the few apps we’ve seen that doesn’t work on every iOS device only iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 devices can run the app.

“We are working quickly to roll out the Google+ mobile app to as many platforms and devices as possible. Today we have only announced availability for the iPhone. iPad/iPod device support is coming soon.” Google+ Mobile Lead Product Manager said.

It is possible to download the iOS app from iTunes for free.

Google+ is also available on Android and on the mobile web. Google+ has quickly become the hot topic of the social media universe. The reaction to Google’s social initiative has been mostly positive, but the company will have to prove that it can differentiate itself from Facebook while retaining users. Google launched its social network in June 28.
