Armenia replies Medvedev’s offers on KarabakhJuly 22, 2011 - 13:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan addressed an official reply to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on his offers over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. On July 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov handed over a personal message and proposals of RF President Dmitry Medvedev to Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev. While on visit to Moscow, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has passed over Baku’s reply to President Medvedev’s suggestions to Russian side on July 18. After Kasan meeting failure President Medvedev made suggestions on Karabakh settlement. The summit between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in Kazan on June 24 completed without an agreement on basic principles of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Later on Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbanian noted that the meeting was not a breakthrough, as the Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev attempted to impose 10 new proposals, thus precluding the possibility of any agreement on the issue.
