Nokia maps now available for Android and iOS devices

PanARMENIAN.Net - The product owner of Nokia’s HTML5 maps Andy introduced Nokia maps for non-Nokia devices at Nokia Ovi Blog.

“A few days back, some of you found out that now you can enjoy Nokia Maps on your smart devices with an HTML5 compatible browser. What this means is that you can have Nokia Maps on your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS4 or Android phones with Android 2.2 and Android 2.3. Simply type maps.nokia.com in your mobile browser and you are in the NokiaMaps page”, - wrote product owner of Nokia’s HTML5 maps.

This is in beta which means that Nokia will be adding more to this in the future.

Here is a quick overview of what you can experience at maps.nokia.com on an iOS or Android device. Users can: see where they are on the map due to HTML5 support for positioning, find addresses, businesses and other places of interest, anywhere in the world, get to know the places: pictures, user reviews, popular travel guides description, contact information, plan the fastest route to their destination by car or on foot, see where the public transport lines go, and where the stops are and share their favorite places with friends via SMS, email, Facebook or Twitter.
