Martirosyan: I am very happy that Angulo wants to fightAugust 22, 2011 - 11:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan was very interested in the fight between Alfredo Angulo and Joe Gomez. The WBC recently ordered an eliminator between Martirosyan and Angulo. The fighter known as El Perro made quick work out of Gomez in his first fight in over a year. The tune up lasted less than a minute. After the fight Angulo's new trainer Nacho Beristain said that he thinks Angulo is now ready for Martirosyan and he is confident the fight will be made. "I am very happy that Angulo wants to fight. I'm happy he wants to fight and is not like the rest of the guys at 154," Martirosyan said. Now that both fighter's promoters (Top Rank and Golden Boy) are on speaking terms the fight has a chance of happening. However, there still are logistical issues as Angulo is still having visa problems which prevent him from fighting in U.S. There is a possibility the fight will happen in a neutral country. The winner of the fight would become Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's mandatory fighter. "I think either one of us would KO Canelo so lets do it. Good job on your fight (1st round TKO of Joe Gomez). Now lets give the fans what they want to see. God Bless," Martirosyan said, BoxingScene.com reported.
