  Expert: Armenian community of Syria supports Assad August 24, 2011 - 12:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Repetition of the Libyan scenario in Syria will have extremely negative consequences for the local Armenian community, Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute deputy director said. “The Armenian community supports President Bashar al-Assad, as they understand that he is the one who can ensure their security,” Suren Manukyan told a news conference in Yerevan, adding that in case of change of power the Armenian community which has already reduced to 100 thousand will be assimilated, like it happened in Iraq.
