Artavazd Peleshyan’s films to be screened at Venice Festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two of the Armenian director Artavazd Peleshyan’s films “Seasons of the Year” (1975) and “Life” (1993) will be screened at the 68th Venice Film Festival in Horizons nomination.

According to the festival's official website, Italian director of Armenian descent Yervant Gianikian’s film, in partnership with Angela Ricci Lucchi , titled “Notes Sur Nos Voyages En Russie 1989 – 90’’ is also included in the same program.

French director of Armenian origin Robert Ketikian’s film "Les Neiges Du Kilimandjaro” is nominated to special European Parliament award.

Yervant Gianikian’s film will be shown on September 1-2, Robert Ketikian’s – September 6, and Artavazd Peleshyan’s on September 6, 10.

The program titled Horizons includes both game films and documentaries, which according to the jury reflect the new tendencies in cinematography.

The 68th Venice Film Festival kicks off on August 31 with George Clooney's "The Ides of March". The second film to be screened is Russian director Victor Kossakovsky’s “Vivan las Antipodas!”
