MP links WikiLeaks reports on Armenia to upcoming elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - Recent WikiLeaks publications about Armenia are a “game” associated with the upcoming elections, said the head of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group.

At news conference in Yerevan, Galust Sahakyan urged against trusting those publications, noting that WikiLeaks is neither an angel nor a dragon. He personally does not believe those publications as following the independence of Armenia he has more or less participated in all Armenian political events and knows all the Armenian political figures. “WikiLeaks is not to pick my allies for me,” he emphasized. Here he added, “I prefer answering questions of our distorted media rather than some defective WikiLeaks.”

Sahakyan emphasized that he does not believe the publications regarding parliament vice-speaker and RPA MP Samvel Nikoyan.

According to WikiLeaks, Samvel Nikoyan told American diplomat Joseph Pennigton about talks within the authority regarding March 2008 events, particularly conflicts between Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan.
