Soldier's careless handling of weapon results in co-serviceman's death![]() September 7, 2011 - 14:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Ministry issued a report in reference to Armenian serviceman Hayk Mkrtchyan's death from a gunshot wound. According to the report, Mkrtchyan's fellow soldier, Lendrush Nazlukhanyan inflicted the wound through careless handling of weapon. A criminal investigation was instigated in accordance with article 373.3 of Armenian Criminal Code (careless handling of weapon resulting in a death) stipulating for 3-7 years of imprisonment. In the morning of September 7, Armenian serviceman Hayk Mkrtchyan, born 1992, died from a gunshot wound while on military duty in the eastern part of the line of contact between Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijani armed forces. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
