Armenian composers’ works to be featured at piano recital in N.C.October 4, 2011 - 12:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Davidson College, North Carolina, U.S. will host a piano recital by Artist Associate Cynthia Lawing in Piano on October 20 evening. Lawing will perform works by Armenian composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries Komitas, Aram Khatchaturian, Alan Hovhaness, Arno Babadjanian and Eduard Abramian, davidsonnews.net reported. Cynthia Lawing, nee Fok Ming Chu, is a native of Hong Kong. In recent years Lawing has performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Orquestra de Macau, the Charlotte Symphony, the Wittenberg University Symphony, Davidson College Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, the Springfield Symphony, the Piedmont Concert Band, Western Piedmont Symphony and the Salisbury Symphony, featuring concertos of Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, Shostakovitch, Bach, Grieg, Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Chopin, and Gershwin.
