Armenian filmmaker launches fundraising campaign for his feature film

PanARMENIAN.Net - Independent Armenian filmmaker, Los Angeles-based Prince Ishkhan Bagdasarian, has launched a fundraising campaign to raise remaining funds for his feature film, Moira, a compelling narrative film about a hit-and-run accident.

Considering production costs for Bagdasarian’s film are enormous, he has launched his online fundraising campaign on the popular website, IndieGoGo.com, with a goal amount of $20,000 in which he must reach by November 11, 2011, PIB Productions said in a press release.

Although funding is one of the first huge impediments to successfully producing a feature film, Bagdasarian will soon overcome it and begin production of his film, if all goes well within the next few weeks.

With modern innovative methods of fundraising, independent filmmakers are given more options than ever before with crowd funding websites. Money raised from the campaign will be divided between production and post production services, in preparation for film festivals and eventually, mass distribution.

Although Bagdasarian will have a small amount of funds to produce the project, several professionals have already reached out to help by donating some of their time and equipment for the film.

When asked about his research for the film, Bagdasarian revealed, “I've spent the last year researching and communicating with several non-profit organizations while writing Moira. I have utilized statistics and annual reports generated by several foundations in order to bring a higher level of authenticity to the screenplay.”

Those interested in supporting the project and to learn more, should visit Bagdasarian's project campaign page at: http://www.indiegogo.com/moirafilm.

Prince Ishkhan Bagdasarian is an independent filmmaker with extensive credits on over 70 feature films and the founder of PIB Productions, a production company in Los Angeles specializing in production and post production for music videos, documentaries and films.
