AMD 342 bln invested in Armenia's energy sector in 2008-2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2008-2011, around AMD 342 bln was invested in Armenia's energy sector for infrastructure programs, according to Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

At Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)-hosted economic conference, Armen Movsisyan noted construction of the 5th power unit at Hrazdan thermal power plant, a new steam- to -gas unit at Yerevan heat station, development of hydropower stations, Iran-Armenia powerline construction program and development of atomic power engineering among crucial projects.

According to the Minister, in Jan-Sept 2011, energy production volume in Armenia grew by 11% against 2010; energy export rate increased by 32% while internal consumption rose by 6%.
