RPA member urges investigation into businesswoman beating case

PanARMENIAN.Net - A member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) commented on recent media reports alleging that the governor of Syunik province Suren Khachatryan had beaten up a businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan.

As Gagik Melikyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “the incident, if true, is unacceptable; yet I’m not sure it actually happened.”

As the MP noted, the governor’s press service denied the report, which leaves responsibility for investigation of the incident to legal authorities.
