Start-Up Weekend Yerevan innovation contest to be held in December

PanARMENIAN.Net - From December 2-4 Yerevan will host Start-Up Weekend Yerevan innovation contest in the framework of Armnet 2011.

As project coordinator Zhirayr Terzyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Start-Up Weekend Yerevan aims to unite project managers, designers, enthusiasts in IT sphere and all those who have innovative ideas.

“Start-Up Weekend Yerevan features new commercial projects in contrast to Social Innovative Camp (SICamp) projects,” Zhirayr Terzyan said.

Event organizers expect Armnet 2011 to involve 70-100 participants who will come up with 5-7 projects.

3 events will be featured this year, Armnet Awards 2011, to award creators of best websites; ArmNet conference, hosting leading IT experts from Opera Software, Begun, Google, Twitter and Start-Up Weekend innovation contest, enabling the winner to start his own business based on his innovative idea.

ArmNet project was organized by SPMS, Orange Armenia and Internet Society of Armenia.
