Expert says Eurasian Union an attempt to resuscitate Soviet UnionNovember 24, 2011 - 15:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Jena’s Friedrich Schiller University Professor considers European Integration as direction of choice for South Caucasus countries, believing Russia’s intention to form Eurasian Union at post-Soviet space an unhealthy initiative. “Eurasian Union looks like an attempt to resuscitate the Soviet Union. However, the regional states relate more to European values as a guarantee of successful development,” Giorgi Khubua told a news conference in Yerevan. Director of CIS States Institute Yerevan subsidiary, political expert Alexander Markarov, however, noted European integration as a remote prospect, with economic integration programs as the only sector of South Caucasus-EU cooperation at present.
