Heritage slams presidential response as undeserving

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage opposition party responded sharply to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent statement in reply to party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s letter.

The party slammed President Sargysan’s statement and personal criticism of Hovannisian, Heritage and opposition as a whole as undeserving of his high post.

“Current president must realize that political rhetoric, followed by organization of elections by methods displayed are the shortest way to public intolerance,” the letter said.

The letter urged the President to correct his mistake through accepting the justice of Hovannisian’s suggestions, taking steps to immediately resolve the problems by providing fair and legitimate elections in the country.

On November 26, Armenian President Serzh Sargysan slammed the letter of Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian. “The letter meant to discredit actions aimed at improvement of electoral process in Armenia, rather than express concern over current developments,” the President stated.
