RPA will garner less votes than expected - United Labor Party leader![]() December 7, 2011 - 16:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) may garner less votes than expected at parliamentary election, according to United Labor Party leader. As Gurgen Arsenyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “public discontent over domestic situation and recent shifts in presidential staff cannot but affect RPA rating.” Also, the politician did not rule out a possible influence of Russia’s State Duma elections on the situation in Armenia. On December 6, RPA nominees, Samvel Nikoyan and Eduard Sharmazanov were elected as Armenian National Assembly speaker and vice speaker respectively, as a result of secret ballot. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
