Yerevan hosts Human Rights EXPO 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 10, Human Rights Day, Armenian Ombudsman’s office organized the Human Rights EXPO 2011 to summarize the results of the office activities for the past year.

As Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan noted during the event, the Justice Minister’s refusal tо make 3 judges answerable based on the Ombudsman's appeal was his greatest disappointment. The Ombudsman named fair judicial inquiries among the most acute issues the Ombudsman's office faces.

As Andreasyan also noted, the majority of complaints filed in 2011 were in reference to family allowances and miscalculated pensions.
