  Armenia plans to achieve USD 3 bln export by 2020  December 15, 2011 - 12:45 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - At December 15 sitting, the government of Armenia approved an export-oriented program strategy. The program aims to determine the development route for the country’s export potential, with specific forecasts provided. According to Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan, the program stipulates for doubling the exports by 2015, with the figure to reach USD 3 bln by 2020. A council in charge of program implementation will be formed to be led by Prime Minister Tigran Sargysan. “With preparatory activities already launched, the program implementation was discussed with representatives of international structures and private sector to be brought into accordance with current economy issues,” the official said.  Top stories The move follows a similar decision by Moody's, which downgraded the company in January by a notch from A1 to A2. Budapest was mandated to bring its deficit below EU-required level of 3 % of gross domestic product by this year. The market average rate of USD totaled AMD 389,26 on Feb 22, increasing by 0.09 point compared to Feb 21.
