Theater Workers' Union of Armenia to promote young directors

PanARMENIAN.Net - The main goal of the Theater Workers' Union of Armenia is to support young directors, according to the head of the Union.

As Hakob Ghazanchyan told a news conference in Yerevan, over the last 2 years, 15 performances were staged with the help of the Union, which is a pretty good result for a small country like Armenia.

Among performances staged are Komitas’ 10 Commandments by Tsolak Mlke-Galstyan, Seville Girl by Hasmik Verdyan, Lucien Luke by Narek Nersisyan and others.

As Ghazanchyan further noted, 8 young Armenian directors will be participating in Moscow-hosted Chekhov International Theatre Festival, with the Union to refund the travel for 4 of them.

The head of the Union also stressed the importance of the recently completed Young Directors Festival in Yerevan, hosting 9 Armenian directors among others.
