French MP: we join Armenian Diaspora struggle against Genocide denial

PanARMENIAN.Net - Threats uttered by Turkish authorities regarding possible adoption of the bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide prove this country did not step out of denial route and fears to face its past, member of France-Armenia interparliamentary friendship group said.

According to Dominique Souchet, Turkey’s denial of the Armenian Genocide is reflected in widespread silence all over the country, in school textbooks and denial policy of diplomats.

Souchet argued that the approval of the bill could serve a signal for Turkish public figures who struggle the policy of denial.

“Armenian Diaspora incessantly fights against the policy of negation and through approval of this bill we will join this fight,” concluded the MP.
