GMP standard to be introduced at Armenian pharmaceutical companies

PanARMENIAN.Net - By January 2013, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standard will be introduced at all Armenian pharmaceutical companies, to be followed by an application to a relevant panel of the EU to recognize the process.

As the head of the staff to Armenian Health Ministry Suren Krmoyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “the initiative will promote competitiveness of Armenia-manufactured products at foreign markets.”

According to the official, the government of Armenia adopted a number of initiatives to boost the country’s business climate and stimulate local production, also facilitating a number of bureaucratic procedures.

The head of Medicine Producers and Importers Union (MPI Union) of Armenia Samvel Zakaryan, in turn, characterised the sector as a key priority on GOA agenda, with relevant legislative alterations launched to provide compliance with international standards.
