Imagine Cup Armenia 2012 competition kicks off

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia and Microsoft RA are announcing Imagine Cup 2012 student competition for Software Design Category.

The winner team of the Armenian Final will represent Armenia at the Imagine Cup World Final in Sydney, Australia in July 2012.

The competition is aimed at helping students to develop new programming/IT solutions and/or applications to address the global issues. The theme for Imagine Cup 2012 is “Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today” addressing the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

This year Imagine Cup Armenia 2012 will be conducted in two phases: (i) selection of shortlisted ideas (Stage 1); and (ii) final selection (Stage 2). The deadline for Stage 1 is February 3, 2012 and for Stage 2 is April 30, 2012.

The Armenia Final will take place on April 30, 2012 in a form of presentations of no more than 15 minutes that will be evaluated by the same Selection Committee.

The Imagine Cup is an annual worldwide student technology competition focused around Microsoft technology and encouraging young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world. The competition has been running for 10 years now. Each year the World finals were being held in different countries.

The Imagine Cup has grown to more than 358,000 registered students from over 183 countries last year.
