Protocols may be signed after presidential election in Armenia - expert![]() January 18, 2012 - 13:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian expert is sceptical over the possibility for Armenian-Turkish Protocols to be signed on the threshold of parliamentary elections in Armenia. Commenting on recent rumours of secret Armenia-Turkey talks, Artak Shakaryan cited prior unsuccessful experience to prove Protocols won't be signed before May 6 elections. The expert, however, didn't rule out for the documents to be signed following 2013 presidential elections in Armenia. Protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations were signed October 10, 2009 in Zurich. However, on April 22, 2010, Armenian President signed a decree to suspend Protocols ratification, in view of unfounded ratification delay at Turkish parliament. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
