Protocols may be signed after presidential election in Armenia - expert

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian expert is sceptical over the possibility for Armenian-Turkish Protocols to be signed on the threshold of parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Commenting on recent rumours of secret Armenia-Turkey talks, Artak Shakaryan cited prior unsuccessful experience to prove Protocols won't be signed before May 6 elections.

The expert, however, didn't rule out for the documents to be signed following 2013 presidential elections in Armenia.

Protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations were signed October 10, 2009 in Zurich. However, on April 22, 2010, Armenian President signed a decree to suspend Protocols ratification, in view of unfounded ratification delay at Turkish parliament.
