With 2 points each, Akopian comes 17th, while Melkumyan is 31st. With 1,5 point Karen Grigoryan currently comes 56th. The festival prize fund totals 125.000 euro. The three tournaments (A, B, C) are be held in 9 rounds in line with contenders’ ranking points. Rankings above 2550 are required for the tournament group A, which usually brings together extra class chess players.
