Akopian to face Melkumyan in Aeroflot Оpen round  4

PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 10, Vladimir Akopian will face off against another Armenian representative Hrant Melkumyan in tournament A 4th round of Aeroflot Open Chess Festival 2012, ongoing in Moscow.

With 2 points each, Akopian comes 17th, while Melkumyan is 31st.

With 1,5 point Karen Grigoryan currently comes 56th.

The festival prize fund totals 125.000 euro. The three tournaments (A, B, C) are be held in 9 rounds in line with contenders’ ranking points. Rankings above 2550 are required for the tournament group A, which usually brings together extra class chess players.
