Over 750 thous. tourists visited Armenia in 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy said that about 758 thous. tourists visited Armenia in January-December 2011, the figure exceeding that of 2010 by 10.3% (80 thous.).

“2012 will be a remarkable year in world tourism industry, as the tourist flow is expected to exceed 1 bln.. Tourist visits to Armenia are expected to surpass the 800 thous. Ara Petrosyan told a resulting press conference in Yerevan.

The Deputy Minister further stressed the need to boost service quality and compatibility by introduction of new services to achieve progress in Armenian tourism infrastructure.

Dwelling on activity promoted in 2011, Mr. Petrosyan highlighted putting into operation of Zvartnots Ariport new passenger terminal in September 2011.
