Viggo Mortensen to play “Out of the Furnace” villain

PanARMENIAN.Net - With Christian Bale joining director Scott Cooper for “Out of the Furnace”, more casting is in the works.

According to IGN, Viggo Mortensen is now in talks to play the film's antagonist. Not only that, but Casey Affleck, Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch and Channing Tatum are all in consideration to play Bale's brother, whose death inspires Bale's character Slim to seek revenge, presumably against Mortensen.

However, no formal deals have been made outside of Bale and Cooper. Production is currently slated to begin before this summer.

Formerly titled “The Low Dweller”, the movie is a gritty 70’s esque revenge movie about an ex-con who vows to take vengeance on those who murdered his brother.
