Armenian FM meets with OSCE MG co-chairsMarch 2, 2012 - 16:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 2, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Robert Bradtke (U.S.), Igor Popov (Russia) and Jacques Faure (France), as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk. Discussion of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement was in focus of the meeting, RA MFA press service reports. The parties also dwelt on possible ways to bring into fruition the joint statement of Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan issued during Sochi meeting on January 23. In this context, Armenian FM called co-chairs’ attention to recent statements in Baku that contradict to the agreement reached in Sochi. According to him, this proves Azerbaijan’s non-constructive approach to its commitments. At January 23 trilateral presidential meeting in Sochi, Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan stressed the need to refrain from extreme measures, calling for continuation of approximating positions. “Considering the importance of shifting to development of peace agreement, Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan expressed readiness to expedite an agreement on Basic principles,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, adding that heads of the two states had requested Russia to mediate humanitarian ties between the two countries.
