Armenian President: RPA will run for parliament as a team![]() March 10, 2012 - 13:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is a national conservative party which stands for the implementation of each individual’s rights and for bringing to life common national aspirations, Armenian President and chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) said. “The Republican Party has been our country’s leading political force for the major part of Armenia’s independent existence and along with its partners it has fostered the country’s development regardless of all internal and external tumults. Though much has changed since Armenia’s gaining independence, the party continues its activity without major shifts. RPA is involved in all the spheres of the country’s social life, due to which it can withstand every challenge,“Serzh Sargsyan said at the 13th congress of RPA. President Sargsyan further noted that in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for May 6 party will present itself as a team of like-minded individuals which has set a goal to win the people’s confidence and form a government. Vahan Hovhannisyan voiced hope that the ruling authorities acknowledge the difficulties Armenia currently faces. Prior to the vote, RPA parliamentary group leader Galust Sahakyan announced the party’s decision to vote against the bill.
